Responsibilities for assisting Director of Marketing include updating of printed sell sheets, postcards, brochures, flyers, posters, as requested. Production of marketing materials: print, crop and stock shelves. Preparation of images for online use. Updating of mailing lists for monthly and quarterly emails. Other hands-on promotional projects as needed. Read online posts of partners and vendors, like, share and comment as appropriate. Research competitor activities and make recommendations relevant to The Starr Group’s social media presence.
This is a part-time, entry level position, ideal for recent graduate or student intern working towards Associates or Bachelors Degree.
Basic Design experience for Print and Digital marketing expected. Software proficiencies in:
- Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign (required), Photoshop (required), Acrobat (required), Illustrator (a plus)
- Microsoft Office: Word (required), Excel (required), PowerPoint (required)
- Social Media experience: Linked In (required), Facebook (required), Twitter (a plus), Joomla (a plus)
Communication skills are a high priority. Fact checking skills a MUST. Attention to spelling and proper grammar required to maintain a professional level of branding.
Hours required in Marketing: Minimum 3 hours per day/5 days per week. (15 hours)
Additional office responsibilities include back up for Front Desk (greeting walk-in customers, answering phones, directing calls and faxes, accessing customer database) and Mail Room (processing outgoing mail, distribution of incoming mail, preparation of promotional campaigns and tracks).
Hours required at Front Desk: 1+ hour per day, as needed
Hours required in Mail Room: As needed for vacation backup
