“Culture by Design…Not Default”

The Starr Group culture is one that is established by design, not default.  Since its restructuring in 2008, the agency leadership has been actively pursuing a workplace culture that is based on a high standard of ethics and relationships built on transparency. The unique Starr Group culture is the result of years of careful planning and the dedicated implementation of a series of core ethical values that are clearly outlined and continually communicated to all its employees.  These values – known as “I-PREACH” – include: Integrity, Passion, Respect, Excellence, Achievement, Communication and Health/Wellbeing.

The Starr Group has been certified by The Good Jobs. Click on the Culture Badges below to learn more.

The acronym itself suggests The Starr Group “walks the talk” in that we clearly practice what we preach. This has been confirmed time and again by the acquisition of several local and national awards from the Better Business Bureau’s “Torch of Ethics,” and the Business Journal’s “Best Place to Work in the Midwest”, to the Business Journal’s “Healthiest Employer”, just to name a few.

Rather than exist in a reactive environment that is led by happenstance, The Starr Group determines its own direction by asking the question, “Who do we want to be?” and then choosing to make it so. How we treat each other as coworkers and colleagues extends to how we treat our customers. Executive Vice President, Mary Starr defines it as “Culture by Design…not Default.”

The Starr Group is not only a great disaster response company, as we found out with the Microburst in July of 2010 when we sustained major roof damage, but they also provide a function that will help your company internally with expertise in human resources, OSHA requirements, and team building.
