The Starr Group Universe has just expanded!
In the last business quarter, our agency welcomed three new employees: Tracy Bonin, Tony Carrera and Kelly Daigle. We’d like to introduce you to them now.
Tracy Bonin joined TSG on September 7, as a Personal Risk Advisor. Tracy is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry as a PL Underwriter with Acuity and General Casualty before moving to another insurance agency in 2001. In 2020, Tracy was awarded the Five Star Professional award, an industry award sponsored by Milwaukee Magazine. Tracy attended UW-Stevens Point and UW-Milwaukee and holds a BA in Sociology. Tracy found inspiration to enter the insurance industry from her Dad. When she was growing up, he owned his own insurance agency, so she’s been around the insurance industry her entire life. “My Dad always reminded me that Integrity and Honesty were the two most important factors when working with customers. She came to The Starr Group because, “I was impressed by the professionalism of the agency as well as the culture within.” Indeed, Tracy hit the ground running and dove right into our annual Office Olympics where she helped her team win the Bronze! Tony Carrera joined the Commercial Team as our new Resource Manager on September 1. In this new position, Tony will be advocating the stewardship of Risk Reduction Services and Preferred Business Resources to our clients. Additionally, he supports our Producers and Account Managers by providing services that are intended to increase both retention and new commercial business. Tony will focus on Total Cost of Risk (TCOR) activity. Tony has 8 years of experience as a CL Underwriter and WC Specialist with EMC, CorVel Corporation and Crum & Forster. He is in the process of obtaining his professional insurance credentials. Tony holds a BA from Carroll University and is bilingual in Spanish and English. Tony told us he was inspired to join our agency because, “The Starr Group is well known and has a positive reputation in the industry.” Tony can be reached at email@example.com
Kelly Daigle joined our team on July 19 as a Personal Risk Advisor. Although new to the insurance industry her Culture Index shows an individual who is strongly suited for sales. She was most recently a product analyst with the Forever Companies and prior to this a product analyst with Kohls. Originally from the Boston, MA area, Kelly graduated from North Carolina State University, with a BS in Fashion and Textile Management and a Minor in Business Administration. Kelly tells us that her friendship with Nick Starr inspired her to apply for the position. Since joining The Starr Group, Kelly has attended classes and has gone through rigorous training, which introduced her to the finer points of homeowners and auto insurance. “It was really an eye opener!” Kelly said. Growing up, Kelly’s family had a trampoline in their yard. “I couldn’t understand why my Dad had my friends’ parents sign waivers. I was so embarrassed. But going through the classes showed me how my Dad was just protecting our family.” As it turned out, Kelly was the one who smacked her head on the trampoline and needed stitches. “After that,” she laughs, “we got rid of the trampoline!” Kelly’s entrance into the insurance world puts her at an advantage over other agents. She’s young and just starting to navigate her own way in the world, which includes obtaining personal insurance for herself. “As I’m learning and finding out the importance of specific coverage, I feel a need to share this information with people who are just leaving their parents’ coverage, going out on their own, or maybe even buying their first home.” Contact Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re confident all three of our new team members will provide the detailed attention to our Personal customers’ policies deserve. Each of them listed “Family” as what they value the most. As a family-owned business, The Starr Group will prove to be a perfect fit for them and for YOU!
