What a combination this is! If you have a swimming pool, trampoline or a dog, we recommend that you pay particular attention to your liability limits on your homeowner’s policy.
A dog is unpredictable and therefore, the high liability limits are always recommended. Swimming pools and trampolines are a luxury, however very catastrophic if an accident occurs. Do you think you have enough insurance protection? As reported by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), 4.7 million Americans are injured by dog bites each year. Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death among children ages 1 to 14 and trampolines had more than 83,000 injuries seen in emergency rooms across the United States in 1996. Because of this exposure, some carriers will add a surcharge to the homeowner’s policy. If you have one or all of these items, you are at greater risk for a loss and therefore, The Starr Group will always recommend higher limits for these homeowners. If you have a swimming pool, trampoline or a dog, it is even more important to make sure your liability limits are adequate.
