Loss Payees & Mortgage Lenders
Have you ever received a letter from one of your financial lenders, stating that they are going to force place insurance on either a vehicle or a home because proof of insurance was not provided to them?
Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. One reason is that the financial institute may not have sent the updated lender information to the insurance company, and without updated information, the proof of insurance will not be sent to the correct lender or location.
You can easily avoid these letters by doing regular maintenance checks on your insurance policies. You want to make sure that your lender’s name, address and loan number is correct and up to date.
Year to year, we often find that a lender may have changed their name or the address of where they want proof of insurance sent to, but did not inform their clients. It is important to keep this information up to date.
