Giving back is more than just corporate responsibility - it is a way of life.  The Starr Group has made giving back a priority and part of our culture.  We’ve incorporated ways to give back to many organizations, however, The Special Olympics of Wisconsin, has been our charity of choice for the past 5 years, and what a rewarding  experience it has been.

The Starr Group has been active in The Special Olympics by participating annually in the Polar Plunge, their major fundraiser.  Our team braves the cold and plunges into Muskego Lake in February for a good cause.  Also, this year, we scaled the city’s tallest building in the “Over the Edge” challenge to show our support.

In addition to these opportunities to financially support the organization, we have been inspired by volunteering at many different Olympic events.  Seeing the dollars create enthusiasm in lives is a truly heartwarming experience and a lot of fun too!

This year The Starr Group was recognized by West Bend Mutual for our support of The Special Olympics of Wisconsin.  We were chosen as one of  their three charitable agencies of the year and West Bend Mutual donated $10,000 on our behalf to The Special Olympics of Wisconsin.  The check was presented to Tim Starr, Kelly Lang, Special Olympics Representative, and Brian Hanrahan, Special Olympics Athlete, by Dale Kent of West Bend Mutual on January 27^th, 2011.

We are honored that our support of The Special Olympics of Wisconsin was recognized in such a generous fashion and are excited that because of the generosity of others we are able to take our support of the organization to a whole new level.
