An important detail to remember when you’re renting a vehicle for business use:

Whether it’s you, or an employee renting a vehicle for business, be sure to rent the vehicle in the business name.  When renting the vehicle in your personal name for business use an endorsement needs to be added to your commercial policy.  The name of the endorsement is “Employee Hired Auto.”  Without this endorsement the commercial auto policy will not provide coverage for damages caused by the person renting the vehicle. Please contact your Commercial Account Manager regarding this endorsement or to find out more about what coverages, if any, you need to add when renting a vehicle for business use.
