Our Lions

“Oh yeah; the building with the lions – now I know right where you are!”

Interestingly enough, a feature on our building has become a way to express our personality and connect with our community.

The Starr Group is located in a unique building at 5005 Loomis Road in Greenfield, WI.  Our building is ‘guarded’ by two stone lions, Lionel and Lionardo.  The lions are representative of the strength that has guided our business for the past 50 years.  Several years ago a Starr Group customer, Darlene Mattmiller, begans creating costumes for our lions and dressing them up for various occasions from Christmas Santas to bikers for the Harley Davidson Anniversary celebrations.  Our historic building and the character of our lions have helped The Starr Group receive the South Suburban Chamber of Commerce's Pride in Premises award from 1998 to 2010.

Our lions have come to life and now make appearances at community events.  The Starr Group believes in giving back to a community that has given us so much.  You can see our lions in the annual events we sponsor at the Greendale Village Days, the Franklin Civic Celebration, and the Greenfield Fourth of July.
